Here Comes Samsung’s Newest Phablet, The Galaxy Note 7
Samsung’s newest addition to its Galaxy Note lineup of smartphones has been officially introduced. The Galaxy Note 7 phablet should wow mobile users who like their handsets generous in size as well as in features, and in that regard, the latest Galaxy Note offering comes with a stylish 5.7 inch display screen, a stylus pen, some impressive water resistant capabilities, and new Knox security functionalities that include iris sensor technology and biometric authentication. Specifications
Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 7 features a 5.7 inch Quad HD Dual edge Super AMOLED display screen that comes with a resolution of 2,560 by 1,440 pixels and a 518 ppi pixel density. Photography loving users will be delighted to know that the phablet is armed with a dual pixel 12 megapixel camera on the rear side that features optical image stabilization. On the front side likes a 5 megapixel camera (F1.7).
The Galaxy Note 7 sweet and slick frame houses an octa core, 14 nanometer process processor made up of a 2.3 GigaHertz quad core chip and a 1.6 GigaHertz quad core chip. Supporting this hardware are 4 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) and 64 gigabytes of built in memory, which is expandable by way of micro SD support for up to 256 gigabytes of storage space.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes preinstalled with Google’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and also boasts other features that include Corning’s new Gorilla Glass 5, a fingerprint scanner, an iris sensor, and a powerful 3,500 mAh battery that is capable of fast charging on both wired and wireless (the Galaxy Note 7 supports wireless charging with WPC and PMA).
Preordering The Galaxy Note 7
The full retail price of Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 7 phablet is a whopping $849.99, which makes the device one of the most pricey handsets out there in the market. Preorders for the Galaxy Note 7 will start on August 3rd, and all major wireless carriers will be selling the device:
- Verizon Wireless: Preorders begin on August 3rd at 12 AM ET. Preordering is online only, with interested parties given the chance to opt between getting a free Gear Fit 2 or a 256 gigabyte micro SD card.
- AT&T: Preorders begin on August 3rd. The device will cost $29.34 a month for a period of 30 months via AT&T Next, and $36.67 a month for a period of 24 months via AT&T Next Every Year. The device is paired with a free Gear S2 and a Galaxy Tab E for $1 with a two year contract. Buyers can also receive a second Galaxy device with AT&T Next to receive $695 in bill credits over a period of 30 months.
- T-Mobile: Preorders begin on August 3rd by phone or in a T-Mobile retail outlet. The device will cost either $850 or $70 down and $32.50 a month for a period of 24 months. The device is paired with a full year subscription to Netflix, a Gear Fit 2, or a 256 gigabyte micro SD card.
- Sprint: Preorders begin online on August 3rd, but no pricing details or bundles have been released by Sprint yet.
