AT&T’s Unlimited &More plans and WatchTV: Everything you need to know
It has been a busy couple of weeks for AT&T -- last week it had announced that it had completed its buy out of Time Warner, while dealing with some speculation that after finishing this mega merger deal, it might now move on to getting its hands on Otter Media (which the carrier partially owns together with The Chernin Group). And there is also that rumor that the number two wireless service provider in the country is looking to introduce a new $15 per month TV streaming service.
Well, AT&T is indeed launching a new TV streaming service called WatchTV, but the company has decided to include this feature in two new unlimited data plans -- the Unlimited &More and the Unlimited &More Premium options. So without further ado, here is a quick guide …
Unlimited &More and Unlimited &More Premium
The Unlimited &More plan is offered by AT&T at $70 for each line service, although for those interested parties looking to get four lines, they will only be paying $160. As mentioned earlier in this post, this plan comes with WatchTV (more on this later), a $15 monthly credit to DirecTV Now, access to video (at 480 p), and up to 4G LTE unlimited data.
As for the higher Unlimited &More Premium option, a single line of service can be had for $80, while four lines will cost $190. With this tier, subscribers get to choose an add-on, which could either HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz, VRV, or music streaming options such as Amazon Music Unlimited or Pandora Premium. For good measure, AT&T’s Unlimited &More Premium also comes with 15 gigabytes of tethering from one’s handset, as well as a $15 monthly credit that customers can apply to a DirecTV, DirecTV Now, or U-Verse subscription.
WatchTV
The new WatchTV streaming service features more than 30 live channels, and at least 15,000 films and TV programs on demand. The service will be made available to just about every smartphone, tablet, web browser, and streaming device out there. And as mentioned in the preceding paragraph, those availing of the Unlimited &More Premium tier get to choose an add-on from a limited list.
