Verizon Wireless just made life easier for Google Pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S25 users. The carrier announced that these devices can now send text messages via satellite when there’s no regular cellular signal available.
According to Verizon, the feature kicks in only when you're completely out of range of traditional cell networks. However, there are a few caveats—your device needs a clear view of the sky, meaning no tall buildings or dense tree cover blocking the signal.
It’s worth noting that not all users will have immediate access. Verizon says the rollout will take about two weeks before the feature is fully enabled.
