What New Cool Stuff Will Apple Unveil On September 12th?
By now, the Internet is so full of rumors regarding Apple’s 2017 iPhone offering, and we do not even know what to call it anymore. It is easy to see why everyone is so hyped up about the device -- let us just call it iPhone X (with X denoting 10 years) -- it basically is a celebration of the decade long dominance of Apple’s iPhone device, and Apple fans are eager to know what new stuff this latest model will wow us with. As for the rest of the players in the global smartphone industry, well they just want to know what they are up against in the upcoming holiday shopping season.
But for sure, the iPhone X will not be the only one getting unveiled this coming September 12. So what other cool things can we expect to make their debut on Tuesday?
The iPhone X
We already talked about the highly awaited iPhone X earlier in this post, and we are going to do so again in this section because, frankly, what is there not to talk about? The device is rumored to come with a nearly bezel-less front panel, with a 5.8 inch display screen. Because it is almost bezel-less, there is talk that Apple will do away with the home button (a staple of basically every iPhone model ever), and instead go for a virtual button that comes with facial recognition tech to help users unlock the device. There is speculation that the iPhone X will be priced at a thousand dollars. If this is true or not, we will all find out this coming Tuesday.
The iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus
Again a note on the name -- based on past iPhone releases, Apple usually launched an S edition a year after a particular new generation model has debuted. For this year, however, there are reports that the company will skip the whole S thing and just release an iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Official names notwithstanding, two other iPhones are coming aside from the iPhone X. The last few months have seen rumor and rumor regarding the iPhone X, but not so much about the the follow ups to last year’s iPhone 7 models. Still, one can reasonably expect that this year’s offerings will likely sport upgrades (but not major ones) to their predecessors, probably when it comes to camera specs.
New Apple Watch
Apple may also be looking to introduce a new Apple Watch model, and one that comes with LTE connectivity. This could be a game changer in the wearables industry -- most smartwatches usually depend on a nearby smartphone to connect to an LTE network, but with a LTE enabled smartwatch (and an Apple Watch at that), consumers will have more motivation to actually purchase wearable devices that can connect to the Internet on their own.
iOS and other Software
Having already unveiled iOS 11 earlier this year, Apple could be sharing new information about the latest version of its mobile operating system, particularly about deployment timeframes, this coming September 12. Also, we can probably expect updates regarding watchOS, macOS, and even ARKit.
Apple TV, HomePod, and others
Could the Apple TV finally have support for 4K and HDR? As for the smart speaker system HomePod, will there be new updates regarding its upcoming release? Also, new information about the Mac Pro and the iMac Pro could also be unveiled on Tuesday.
