It looks like this year is a year of acquisitions. The latest company to be acquired is Consumer Cellular, an MVNO with over 4 million customers.
Earlier this week, Chicago-based private investment firm, GTCR, announced its plans to acquire the company. Although details about the acquisition’s terms were scarce, there are reports suggesting that the MVNO was purchased for $2.3 billion.
Earlier this week, Verizon made headlines with its new milestone. The wireless carrier was able to break data barrier speeds with its 5.06Gbps data speed. This is all thanks to Verizon’s newly expanded mmWave 5G network and its 5G Nationwide network.

AT&T will be closing 320 of its company-owned AT&T Mobility retail stores in the next coming months. Unfortunately, this also means that over 1,600 workers will be affected by this.
