Motorola Sold More Than 10 Million Smartphones In Final Quarter Of 2014

Motorola, which was acquired by China-based Lenovo last October for $2.9 billion, has announced that it has sold over 10 million smartphones in the final quarter of the year 2014. 

 

When compared to Apple's and Samsung's sales figures, Motorola's numbers are not that mind-blowing. But still, it is a pretty good number. After all, when you combine the smartphone sales of Motorola and its parent company Lenovo, that puts them within the top five biggest phone manufacturers in the world, behind leaders Apple and Samsung and competing with LG and Huawei.

 

Twitter Launches Kiddie Version Of Vine

Twitter originally launched Vine, the popular short video sharing service, a couple of years ago. Now, the social media company is releasing a kid-friendly version of the popular app, aptly called Vine Kids.

The subways of Chicago will having be having 4G LTE services soon. All four major wireless carriers in the United States -- AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless -- are working together to roll out a $32.5 million LTE upgrade to the Chicago subways. That will include 22 miles of subway tunnels under the Windy City.

You can now have Outlook on your mobile device even if it runs on the Android or iOS platform. Microsoft has confirmed that it is launching its email app to Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, based on the application it got after its acquisition of Acompli last month.

Samsung To Produce 3/4 Of The Processors For Apple’s Next iPhone Models

Samsung and Apple may be fierce competitors in the phone making business, but they do have a working relationship. Indeed, it appears that Samsung, who is a producer of all types of consumer electronics, will build 75 percent of the processors that will be used by Apple, especially for its next line of iPhones.
