Microsoft Launches Outlook for Both Android And iOS Mobile Devices

You can now have Outlook on your mobile device even if it runs on the Android or iOS platform. Microsoft has confirmed that it is launching its email app to Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, based on the application it got after its acquisition of Acompli last month. 

 

Previously, Microsoft offered different Outlook-branded products for different platforms. There's the Outlook.com app for the Android system, and then there's the OWA apps for both Android and iOs (but available only to those under paid Office 365 subscriptions).

MetroPCS Introduces $50 Unlimited LTE Promo

MetroPCS, the prepaid wireless service brand owned by T-Mobile, is launching a new promo that will give its customers unlimited calls, text messaging, and 4G LTE data for $50 a month. And they can enjoy all of these without having to sign up for a yearly contract. 

 

But wait -- there are some caveats. First of all, subscribers must avail of the promo not later than April 5th of this year. When they do, they will be able to enjoy the promo's inclusions for an indefinite period of time. 

 

Last Quarter’s iPhone Shipments May Have Set New Record

Based on new analysis by financial analysis firm Morgan Stanley, Apple may have shipped as many as 69 million units of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus last quarter. 

 

Morgan Stanley released its latest prediction for iPhone shipments via a recently released investor note. The firm had previously predicted that there would be 62 million units sold of the new iPhone models. But later it had updated its forecast to 67 million.

Word Lens used to be a separate service, but now Google has finally incorporated it on the Google Translate mobile app. Word Lens works by using a smartphone's camera to instantaneously translate written text. On top of that, it replaces the on-screen text with a translation that is as close and as accurate to an exact replica as possible, which means that font, color, and background hue are taken into account.

 

Consumer Trials For Project Ara To Commence In Puerto Rico This Year

Google has revealed that Project Ara will begin consumer trials in Puerto Rico this year. The overall purpose of the project is to create a freely modular phone in which users get to decide what hardware components to incorporate in its basic skeletal phone body.

 

Project Ara first came into the public eye last year. Since then, rumors have began circulating as to when the project will finally take off. But it never really did until today when Google made an official announcement.
