Mobile users who are based in countries belonging to the European Union (EU) may now start bidding their goodbyes to roaming charges. That is because Europe’s executive body, parliament, and representatives of the 28 Member States have finally come to terms regarding a deal on wholesale charges, i.e. the prices wireless carriers can charge each other when letting users from rival networks roam across different providers.
Because AT&T has recently secured a roaming and interconnection deal with Empresa De Telecomunicaciones De Cuba (ETECSA), a telecom service provider based in Cuba, the second biggest wireless carrier in the United States could soon be able to connect its subscribers visiting the island nation.
FreedomPop, a mobile virtual network operator for major wireless carrier Sprint, recently launched a free international calling service not only for its subscribers, but for all those interested.
If you are a customer who has the FreedomPop Free Talk and Text app, you will get 100 minutes of free international calls every month. For now, you can make calls to 52 designated countries, but FreedomPop is planning to expand the coverage to over 170 markets in the foreseeable future.
