Local Channels

There are 210 Designated Market Areas (DMA) in the United States. You can only receive local channels for the DMA in which you live (FCC rules). Satellite TV is currently offered in about 150 of these DMA, covering the vast majority of the population. Local channels are included at no additional cost in most programming packages offered by Dish Network and DIRECTV.

High Definition Local Channels are now being offered over satellite in select markets. To receive these channels, you will need to be able to receive high definition programming. For more on the requirements, visit our page on satellite programming in HD.

The table below shows all 210 DMA, sorted by state. Select your market to see which provider(s) offer local channels in your area.
