Honor Play 4 Pro comes with built-in temperature reader
It looks like smartphone manufacturers these days are adding a key feature in the devices they produce. Because of the ongoing health crisis, phones today are being created with a built-in infrared temperature sensor.
One of the devices to be equipped with this feature is Huawei’s Honor Play 4 Pro. The device is said to be equipped with an IR sensor that can take the temperature of the individual, just like many establishments are doing to make a non-contact temperature check.
In order to take a temperature reading with the phone, you will need to launch the app and hold the device over the forehead of an individual. The phone is said to detect temperatures between -20 degrees Celsius and 100 degrees Celsius.
Although this is the first device to have this feature built-in, many are cautious about it and are afraid this could simply be a gimmicky move. But you can check the process here shared on Chinese social networking site, Weibo. If it proves to be accurate and useful, it’s possible that many other manufacturers will include this feature in their upcoming devices.
Other than an IR temperature scanner, the Honor Play 4 Pro comes with a 6.57-inch LCD display. It runs on a Kirin 990 processor with 8GB of RAM, 128GB onboard storage, and a 4,200mAh battery. The phone has a dual rear camera configuration and 5G connectivity. Right now, it is available in China for $420 but it doesn’t support Google’s apps and services.
