Sprint’s 5G service now in four cities

Sprint is the latest US carrier to launch its 5G service in the country. The carrier joins the likes of Verizon and AT&T, who have launched their own networks this year.

With Sprint’s launch, 5G service is now available in parts of Kansas City, Houston, Atlanta, and Dallas-Fort Worth. But in order to enjoy the blazing fast speeds that 5G promises, you will have to wait until tomorrow to purchase either the HTC 5G Hub or the LG V50 ThinQ.

Despite having launched in four areas, Sprint boasts of currently having the largest “initial” 5G coverage. The wireless provider plans to expand the service to parts of Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago, New York City, and Washington, DC real soon. This might be in time for the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G to become available.

If you are living in the areas that Sprint’s 5G coverage is available, it’s important to know that there are some caveats right now. For one thing, coverage is still expected to be spotty-- particularly indoors since high-frequency 5G is not capable of penetrating. Plus, there’s a pressing issue that only a handful of 5G devices are currently available. You will have to make do with what’s available in the market if you truly wish to experience 5G connectivity.
