T-Mobile Adds Free Unlimited International Data to Simple Choice Plan
T-Mobile is really stepping up their game to unseat rival carriers AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint by offering customers free unlimited data in over 100 countries worldwide, beginning October 31st. The free unlimited data will apply to customers of the Simple Choice and Simple Choice Family plans, and existing customers will also receive the new perk.
This move makes T-Mobile the first major US cell phone carrier to offer unlimited international data. Other carriers offer international data, but none offer completely unlimited. For example, AT&T subscribers can pay $30 for 120 MB of international data, hardly enough for a heavy data user.
While T-Mobile has yet to say which data speeds they will offer overseas, look for this move to be a big hit among frequent international travelers, and those who've been thinking of switching plans for some time now. In addition to the free, unlimited international data, T-Mobile's Simple Choice and Simple Choice Family plans already require no contract.
