DISH Hopper DVR Now Comes With a Built-in Slingbox That Allows Customers to Watch Satellite TV From Anywhere
DISH Network has upgraded their DISH Hopper DVR, which definitely make it a more attractive piece of equipment. With the old DISH Hopper DVR box, you could purchase a Sling adapter for $49.99 that would allow you to watch shows recorded on your DVR from anywhere you had an Internet connection. The new DISH Hopper DVR, however, comes with that Slingbox built-in. Along with being installed by default, the Slingbox is deeply integrated with your DISH Network satellite TV service, so you can view anything saved on your DVR on any device with an Internet browser, including iPads. You can also edit your DVR schedule from your devices.
In addition to the Slingbox, the DISH Hopper also got an upgraded 1.3 GHz processor, which is a big improvement over the 750 MHz chip found in the old Hoppers. All the original features of the DISH Hopper are still there, including the ability to record up to six shows at the same time, and the AutoHop feature that allows users to automatically skip commercials on Prime Time shows recorded with the Hopper.
The upgraded DISH Hopper is another argument in favor of DISH in the DISH Hopper vs. DIRECTV Genie debate.
