T-Mobile System Glitch Exposed Customers’ Info to Others
T-Mobile was on the hot seat recently after it was reported that they were the subject of a new breach. But as T-Mobile clarified, there were no recent breaches. Instead, they encountered a temporary system glitch when they did an overnight technology update.
Unfortunately, this left the sensitive account information of its customers available to others. Even though a breach didn’t happen, the glitch still exposed the accounts of less than 100 customers.
The glitch happened for three hours in the early morning. Users who accessed the official T-Mobile app on their devices were able to see the account information of other customers, such as their full names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, plans, and the last four digits of their card/bank accounts.
Although the glitch was fixed right away, it still raises a concern for T-Mobile’s customers. As of this writing, T-Mobile has not released an apology or how it plans to appease affected customers.
