iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus: Which One To Choose?
Of course, the answer to the question above ultimately depends on the buyer and his or her preferences. But what about those who have not quite figured it out yet? In this article, let us go through the attributes of each, try to find out what particular strength each one has over the other, and hopefully, help some our readers make up their minds.
Storage
Both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are available with storage options of 16 gigabytes, 64 gigabytes, or 128 gigabytes. So in terms of storage options, each is equally good.
Display Screen
Both new iPhones feature larger screens compared to their predecessors: the iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7-inch display, while the iPhone 6 Plus has one that measures 5.5 inches. The iPhone 6 offers 326 pixels per inch (ppi), but the iPhone 6 Plus is at 440 ppi, which makes it the only iPhone to go beyond the 326-ppi restriction.
Camera
iPhones have always had better quality cameras compared to most smartphones out there, and it is safe to say that with the new versions, they are continuing to be a cut above the rest. Both iPhones feature 8-megapixel rear cameras -- the only difference is that the iPhone 6 Plus has optical image stabilization (OIS), a nifty thing to have especially for users with shaky hands.
Processors
The iPhone 6 boasts a 64-bit chip that vastly improved over the one used by its predecessor, the iPhone 5S. It is the same thing with the iPhone 6 Plus.
Other features
Both new iPhone versions sport the same fingerprint scanner features, which means that ID authorization is never a problem for neither, especially when used with the NFC chip.
Some might say that both iPhones are too similar to pose a clear advantage against the other. But still, there are others that will insist that the truth of the story lies in the details. If you are one that is a stickler for the smallest differences, you may find the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus two completely different devices.
Your choice then may come down to what your personally prefer. If you like the smaller of the two because it is easier for you to handle, then the iPhone 6 is your baby. If you like a bigger display with better image quality, then the iPhone 6 Plus is for you. But remember, a bigger screen may require more finger gymnastics.
As for the camera features, being able to capture stable images may be easier with the iPhone 6 Plus because of its OIS feature. But do not forget that the iPhone 6 also comes with digital image stabilization (DIS), a built-in software that one can use to minimize blurring from images taken improperly. The means may be different, but they both are gunning for the same result. It is really up to the buyer to decide which one he or she is more comfortable with (or which one he finds more cool or cute).
To conclude, perhaps the most helpful tip we can provide is to know what you want from the new iPhones, and then find out what you can about both versions, and just take it from there.
