The Caterpillar brand name has been synonymous with large yellow vehicles that are usually used in construction. But surprisingly, the company has ventured into the smartphone industry by providing devices that bear the same level of reliability and ruggedness to its exterior. Such as the CAT B15Q, the successor of the B15 model that was first introduced by the company in 2013. Following the same standard for rugged beauty, the B15Q bears a silver-anodized aluminum shell with rubber bumpers surrounding the device for added protection. It bears a 4-inch multi-touch display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a 233ppi density. From the inside, it is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek processor with 1GB of RAM, and the ARM Mali-400 MP2. The phone comes with 4GB of built in storage memory, which may be expanded by up to 32GB using a microSD card. There are a couple of cameras—a 5MP LED flash with autofocus on the back and a 0.3MP VGA camera in front. Giving power to the device is a 2000mAh battery with a capacity to last up to 16 hours of talk time and 21 days in standby mode. Upon unboxing, the phone operates on Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
