The Samsung Gear 2 comes as a second generation model from the smartwatch manufactured by Samsung. Available with an improved design, the Gear 2 is a step up from its predecessor. It features a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display with a 320x320 resolution surrounded by a brushed metal finish face and a standard 20mm watch strap made from plastic. The band colors of the watch may be interchanged to create a new look. Beneath the surface, the Gear 2 smartwatch runs on a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM. The memory built into the phone is 4GB. Thanks to a 300mAh internal battery, the watch gets up to 2-3 days of heavy use or until 6 days with low usage. It comes with Bluetooth, a 2MP camera with 720p video, accelerometer, heart rate monitor, and a gyroscope. It has received an IP67 rating, meaning it can be submerged up to one meter for 30 minutes. The watch runs on a Tizen-based OS and allows its users to control their TV with its built-in IR blaster and WatchON feature.
