T-Mobile reports Q2 2020 earnings, lands second largest carrier title
Earlier today, T-Mobile reported its earnings from the second quarter of the year. It’s important to note that this is the first quarter where Sprint is included in its earnings after the merger in July. And with the numbers of the two carriers combined, it looks like things are looking up for the Un-carrier.
During the quarter, T-Mobile was able to add 1.245 million customers. This gives them a total of 98.3 million subscribers. With the results of its Q2 2020 earnings, T-Mobile proudly says it has surpassed AT&T in total branded customer count. This gives them the title as the second largest carrier in the country, next to Verizon.
AT&T reported having 93 million customers for both postpaid and prepaid.
In addition to its earnings from the quarter, T-Mobile shared an update with its 5G network. According to the Un-carrier, they have launched their 2.5GHz mid-band 5G in Atlanta, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. This is the same coverage that is live in parts of Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, and Philadelphia.
After the announcement was made, T-Mobile’s shares rose to an all-time high.
