Report: AT&T Customers Warned to Monitor Accounts for Suspicious Activity

AT&T users are being warned to keep an eye on their accounts for any suspicious activity. According to a report from Bleeping Computer, the contents of a 2021 data breach is currently being offered for free on a data theft forum. The report shared that this data breach has been offered for sale for $1 million since 2021.

The data contains the names, mobile phone numbers, and addresses of 73 million AT&T users since 2021. There is also a separate file that contains decrypted birth dates and social security numbers of these users.

Bleeping Computer shared that they were able to confirm the accuracy of some of the data in the leak. These people have been using AT&T before the alleged 2021 leak.

Back in 2021, AT&T already denied they encountered a breach:

“Based on our investigation today, the information that appeared in an internet chat room does not appear to have come from our systems."

And even today, the wireless carrier denies any attack.

Either way, it’s important to monitor your account for suspicious activity, especially if you were an AT&T customer before and up to 2021. You can check if your information is part of the data breach by visiting this site
