Samsung, Google working to improve RCS messaging
Google is reportedly working with Samsung to make Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging more available on Galaxy devices.
According to the report, even though there are select Samsung Galaxy phones that are already compatible with RCS, it is still largely carrier-based. This is why the two have decided to work together to make this feature available.
Unfortunately, there’s no exact date on when this feature will launch. The two have been working since 2018 to make this feature available on more devices.
According to them, the two are now working at making the feature available without the need for a specific carrier. Once they are successful in integrating this with the Samsung native Messages app, it won’t need the support of the carrier anymore.
When this happens, the future of messaging will definitely change for the better. It’s only a matter of time when this gets launched.
