T-Mobile Recalls REVVL 7 Pro for Unknown Reasons
A few days ago, T-Mobile issued a memo instructing its stores to return all remaining stock of the REVVL 7 Pro. This device, which was launched in May alongside the REVVL 7, bears the T-Mobile brand but was manufactured by various companies, including TCL.
The recall appears to be in response to a significant issue, prompting the wireless carrier to include even demo units in the recall. According to the memo, all affected devices must be returned by August 14. T-Mobile cited the recall as necessary to "maintain high-quality standards."
Stores have been directed to categorize the returned devices as "customer remorse returns," which seems unusual. However, as noted by The Mobile Report, this likely reflects a lack of a more appropriate option in their system for processing the recall.
The website also reported that some employees had previously noticed that the native phone app was crashing frequently on several devices. To address this, they had to install the Google Phone app as a workaround.
T-Mobile has already removed the REVVL 7 Pro from its website, while Metro by T-Mobile has listed the device as “currently unavailable online.” Although the REVVL 7 is also unavailable at Metro, it remains in stock at T-Mobile. Notably, the memo did not mention the REVVL 7.
The key question now is what will happen to the devices that customers have already purchased. Has T-Mobile contacted these customers to arrange returns as well? Ideally, the issue can be resolved without impacting those who already have the devices in their possession.
