Preordered T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Units Arriving Ahead of Oct 17th Launch

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be offered by all four major carriers in the United States starting on October 17th this year. But it appears that among the Big Four, T-Mobile may have gotten off to a much faster start. Reports are coming in that some of the carrier's customers, specifically those who preordered their Galaxy Note 4 units, have already received their devices. A few even reported that they already got theirs as early as yesterday.

These T-Mobile subscribers will surely enjoy the Galaxy Note 4 a day or two earlier than customers of other carriers. And there is plenty to enjoy. Samsung's latest Galaxy Note shares some of its predecessor's best attributes and even improves on some of them. Like the Galaxy Note 3, the Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 5.7-inch display screen. But this time around, the latest version features better clarity, courtesy of its Quad HD 2560 by 1440 resolution and high pixel density (515 pixels per inch). For comparison, Apple's recently-launched iPhone 6 Plus features a 5.5-inch 1920 by 1080 display screen and a pixel density of 401 ppi. 

The Galaxy Note 4 also has a 16-megapixel rear camera that comes with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 3-7-megapixel front-facing camera, LED flash, 2160p video (at 30 frames per second), and 1080p video recording (at 60 frames per second). 

Hardware-wise, it packs a 2.7 GigaHertz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 graphics processing unit (GPU), 32 gigabytes of internal storage, 3 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM), and a microSD slot that can support up to 128 gigabytes of additional storage space.

The device has a 3,200 mAh battery and runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, an ultra-violet sensor, and a heart rate monitor. 

As mentioned earlier, Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 is being pushed by all four major carriers in the US, namely AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. As of this writing, all carriers have already accepted preorders for the device, but it appears that only T-Mobile has managed to ship its preorders ahead of the October 17th release date. 

Samsung had introduced the Galaxy Note 4 last month during the 2014 Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) trade show held in Berlin, Germany. Its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 3, had been formally unveiled twelve months prior. Other devices introduced together with the Galaxy Note 4 during the IFA trade show included the Galaxy Note Edge (notable for its curved display screen), the Gear S (wearable device), and the Gear VR (headset).
