Madefire App Now Offers Marvel Titles
Madefire officially announced today that its digital comic book collection now includes titles from arguably the most recognizable comic book publishing company in the world -- Marvel. In other words, users of the Madefire mobile app now can enjoy access to some of the most loved comic book titles of all time, like Avengers, X-Men, the Amazing Spider-Man, and Iron Man, just to name few, in clear, digital format. Moreover, these titles can be accessed through Madefire’s app not only for the Android platform, but also on iOS, Windows, and even on TV apps.
Before landing the Marvel deal, Madefire already possessed a pretty extensive collection consisting of some 30,000 comics, graphic novels, and Motion Books. For those not familiar with that last part, Motion Books is a format that allows creators to add multimedia elements to their work. You can think of it as sort of moving comic panels (like how comics would look in the Harry Potter universe).
One can say that comic books are one of the most enduring inventions of the 20th century (at least according to any comic book aficionado). With services like Madefire, this particular form of storytelling is brought to the 21st century and beyond. And what better way to do it than by making the art form easily accessible through mobile devices, the thing we can’t seem to live without these days.
Storytelling is a big part of Madefire’s identity. The company after all started out half a dozen years ago as a digital storytelling platform for creators. In more ways than one, the service served as a bridge (or an inter-dimensional portal, if you will) wherein storytellers and content creators can better reach their audiences, and vice versa.
As for audiences, this latest development is a big win by any measure. Stories from comic books have never been more in-demand in this day and age, with nearly all of the latest summer blockbusters inspired by classic or new comics titles. And while today’s filmmakers and producers have done a great job in translating comics stories to the big screen, some people will be wanting more (perhaps to check what that Easter Egg is all about).
Looking at the bigger picture, this news give another boost to the overall digital comics reading experience. Some may remember that back in March early this year, Comixology made its Guide View available on Amazon’s Kindle app for Apple mobile devices.
