T-Mobile expands mid-band 5G to 81 new cities and towns

T-Mobile has launched its 2.5GHz mid-band spectrum in new parts of the country. To be more specific, the Un-carrier has launched the network in 81 new cities and towns, giving customers access to 5G network.

The areas that comprise this launch include suburbs of 8 major cities: 

• Atlanta

• Chicago

• Dallas

• Houston

• Los Angeles

• New York City

• Philadelphia

• Washington, D.C. 

T-Mobile has already included new areas with select neighborhoods near Boston, Charlotte, Portland (Oregon), Tampa, and Winston-Salem. 

According to the wireless carrier, their goal is to add mid-band 5G to 1,000 towers each month. This way, they hope to provide the service to “thousands of cities and towns across the country” before the year ends. 

In addition to launching in these cities, T-Mobile has added more mid-band spectrum to towers that already have mid-band 5G in place. In doing so, they are able to offer greater capacity and data speeds.
