AT&T Subscribers Experienced a 7-Hour Outage on Tuesday
For the second time this year (and a span of four months), AT&T subscribers suffered a prolonged outage. This time, however, the outage also affected Verizon Wireless customers since they were unable to make and receive calls from AT&T customers.
The second outage lasted a total of seven hours and prevented customers from making calls across carriers. A spokesperson for the company told CNN:
“The interoperability issue between carriers has been resolved. We collaborated with the other carrier to find a solution and appreciate our customers' patience during this period.”
The outage started around 1pm ET on Tuesday and only started to decline around 6pm ET. Some of the affected cities include New York, Dallas, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, and Chicago.
The outage also affected some 911 calls in specific locations, such as Camden County, Pennsylvania, Scranton, and Georgia.
We’re still hoping for more information about this outage.
