T-Mobile Customers to Get 5G Boost in “Coming Days”
After years of waiting, T-Mobile finally has access to the 2.5GHz spectrum it won in 2022. This was the spectrum that the Un-carrier won at the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Auction 108. But because the FCC did not have authority to license the spectrum, T-Mobile had to wait.
Thankfully, President Biden’s administration approved the 5G SALE Act, which gave the FCC authority to license the spectrum. And now, the Un-carrier is finally able to activate the spectrum.
With this announcement, T-Mobile told its customers to expect a “5G Boost in the coming days.” The additional spectrum expands T-Mo’s Ultra Capacity 5G coverage and bandwidth around the country, especially in rural areas.
“Thanks to years of planning, T-Mobile is ready to put this spectrum to use right now for millions of our customers, delivering game changing Ultra Capacity 5G to more people and increasing speed and performance for others. This type of execution is exactly why T-Mobile is the new network leader in the U.S., and we continue to give customers the greatest value at the same time.” - Mike Sievert
